Houston Pair Arrested for Unlicensed, Amateur Breast Implant Surgery

A couple of weeks ago, we reported on a Florida man who liked big butts too much and was doling out unlicensed silicone butt injections from a hotel room (prior post here).

Laras: not bona fide surgeons
Houston is apparently a breast city. Culture Map Houston reports that a 41-year old woman arrived at a local hospital with infected breast implants and lead Sheriff’s deputies to a home where Yuri Lara and Karen Lara were doing home surgery.  The Sheriff recovered Lidocaine and medical devices.  The woman with the unlicensed breast implants told the police that she had numerous cosmetic procedures done by the Laras (in their home in Northwest Harris County), including body contouring, breast enhancements, liposuction, and fat injections.  Perhaps these were to her butt and we are not far behind Florida in the unlicensed big butt liking and enhancement rankings.

Deputies believe that he pair may have performed illegal cosmetic procedures on a number of other people who have not yet come forward.

Bona fide plastic surgery, not done in a house
Seriously people, why would you go to someone’s home for surgery?  It is unsanitary and unsafe.  When something goes bad, you’ll have to go to the hospital for real treatment.  Now the woman had abscesses from her bad fake breasts, and they must look gnarly.  There were no pictures in the article.  Now she’s going to have to pay someone to fix them up for real, and pay a lot more.  This isn’t a home tattoo that you can get fixed at a real shop. This is surgery.

The Laras are being held on a $50,000 bond for unauthorized practice of medicine and $1000 bonds for drug possession.  They are in jail for this. While, in California, a guy who tried to massacre a dude in a bar with a chainsaw is out of jail on an apparently low bond.  (see prior story) here.
