Revenge Porn Site Operator Busted by FBI on 15 Felony Counts

Revenge porn site operator Hunter Moore, who reveled in being hated, has now been charged with fifteen federal felony counts for allegedly conspiring with another man to hack into the email accounts of numerous victims in search of nude photos that could be posted online on his website.

Hunter Moore
Moore and his cohort, Charles Evens have been charged with conspiracy, seven counts of identity theft and seven counts of unauthorized computer access. Not officially part of the charge, but definitely part of the case, will be the fact that he is one of the sleaziest people on the internet who isn’t charged with child pornography.

The Smoking Gun reports that According to prosecutors, Moore (seen at right) paid Evens to hack e-mail accounts in search of sexually explicit photos for his web site. The indictment cites e-mails exchanged by the duo in 2011 and 2012 that refer to the illegality of the hacking and the need to use anonymous PayPal accounts.

They reportedly created fake emails accounts and Moore even had Evens send pictures to Moore’s mother’s gmail account.  Moore’s scheme targeted and yielded naked pictures of eight people who’s email accounts were hacked, and then naked pictures of them were posted on the web.

Apparently not enough people were sending Moore revenge-porn pictures of their ex-girlfriends or boyfriends, or were scared off by California’s new revenge porn law, which criminalizes publishing nude photos without the nude person’s consent.  Moore then went and found some unauthorized pictures on his own.

Now the feds are seeking their revenge.  If convicted of the federal charges, Moore and Evens face up to five years in prison on the conspiracy and computer hacking counts. The identity theft charges carry “a mandatory two-year sentence” that would run “consecutive to any other sentence imposed in the case,” according to prosecutors.

Let’s hope they get it and he spends some time in prison and learns what revenge is.
